Provides a brief overview of what Vedic Mathematics is and how it simplifies mathematical operations.
Benefits: Explains the advantages of using Vedic Math, including faster problem-solving, ease of use, and applicability to everyday math tasks.
Encouragement: Motivates the reader to practice these techniques to improve their own math skills.

  • 1. Multiplying by 11:

Add the digits of a two-digit number together and place the sum in the middle.

    Example: 32 × 11 = 352 (3 + 2 = 5)

  • 2. Squaring Numbers Ending in 5:

Multiply the number (except the 5) by the next higher number and append 25.

    Example: 75² = 5625 (7 × 8 = 56, then add 25)

  • 3. Subtracting from Powers of 10:

Use "All from 9, and the last from 10" for subtraction from numbers like 1000.

    Example: 1000 - 387 = 613

  • 4. Multiplying Numbers Near 100:

Subtract the differences from 100, then cross-add the differences and append.

    Example: 97 × 96 = 9312

  • 5. Cross Multiplication for Two-Digit Numbers:

Multiply two two-digit numbers using vertical and crosswise methods.

    Example: 23 × 45 = 1035

  • 6. Finding Square Roots:

Approximate the square root by finding the nearest perfect square and adjust.

    Example: √9801 = 99

  • 7. Dividing by 9:

Sum the digits of the number. If the sum is divisible by 9, so is the number.

    Example: 234 ÷ 9 = 26 (2 + 3 + 4 = 9)

  • 8. Nikhilam Sutra for Multiplying Numbers Close to Powers of 10:

Subtract the differences from the base (e.g., 100) and combine.

    Example: 98 × 97 = 9506

  • 9. Doubling and Halving Method for Addition:

Break up numbers for easier addition by halving one and doubling the other.

    Example: 125 + 250 → 250 + 125 = 375

  • 10. Quick Multiplication by 9:

Multiply by 10 and subtract the original number.

    Example: 9 × 34 = 340 - 34 = 306
